Parkwood Volunteer Fire Department provides year round fire prevention education to local children, adults and seniors.  Along with welcoming walk-in visitors at the station, Parkwood provides a variety of programs, including fire safety and prevention for the home, fire extinguisher training and childrens puppet shows.

Each October Parkwood participates in the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Fire Prevention Week.  In past years Parkwood has provided fire prevention education to over 2000 preschool and elementary school children during annual fire prevention weeks.
